I made a mistake with a photo shot of and outfit, I am sorry. This was going to be a somewhat short post, but I just wasn't happy with the way the photos turned out of this outfit, so I made way with a strong selfie game and moved on. This was meant to be a post about experimenting, mixing blue with black, and layering etc. I just think there are so many better ways this outfit could be shot I will give you a selfie and a small piece of advice for finding your own personal style.

Try everything, but the things that you keep coming back to, those are your style.

One: What’s on your Christmas list?

I did a Christmas Wishlist a week or so ago here. But I have developed a longer list outside of my official list list (ready to give ideas to the clueless relative), first and foremost IT by Alexa Chung, because I have a teeny obsession with her wardrobe, I don't have a series based on this lined up at all ;)

Two: What’s on your Christmas Day agenda?

Eat. Sleep. Rave. Repeat. I joke, we normally get up really early (ewww mornings) open up some presents, ring family members in other countries before lunchon. Following eating too much we walk our dog, mainly because he gets annoying if we don't and it makes us feel better. Finally we open remaining presents and watch all the Christmas Specials, *cough* Doctor Who *Cough* Cough*

Three: How much Christmas shopping have you done?

All of it.

Four: What’s been your biggest ever surprise gift?

I wish I could say I remember but I really can't... the last surprise gift I recieved was for my 16th birthday in June to go on holiday with my friend to Portugal, not Christmasy I know but it's all I got...
(that was awful English I am ever so sorry)

Five: When do you usually put up your Christmas tree?

The first weekend the whole family is around, and this normally coincides with the yearly Christmas showing of The Mummy Returns, it didn't this year. BOO!

Six: Do you have a special outfit planned for Christmas Day?

Not really, I don't really dress up for Christmas, I allow food baby room so to speak... hehe. It means I can have that extra mince pie and my clothes won't dig in. But maybe I will this year who knows!

Seven: Do you have any plans for Boxing Day?

Sleep. Eat all the Christmas chocolate I can find, then sleep some more...

Eight: When did you stop believing in Father Christmas?

At the age of 11, when my mum broke the awful news that the tooth fairy didn't exist just after having had 4 of my teeth taken out, so naturally I asked about Father Christmas and surprise surprise he turned out to be make believe :( I still got to pretend for a few years until my sister was older!

Nine: What’s your favourite Christmas scent? (Candle/Perfume)

Anything with gingerbread, or cinnamon in it, so lets just say I like the smell of Christmas baking above all else, that and my mother's signature sent Chanel N0.5. *sings These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things loudly*

Ten: What do you love most about Christmas?

Hmmm this is difficult, but I would have to say the way that everyone comes together even people of different religions seem happier at this time of year, or my perceptions of people is more forgiving. I also love seeing most of my family and seeing all the friend I don't have time to see during term time!

My views:

"The Fault In Our Stars" is the New York Times best-seller for a reason, there is no fairytale ending but a emotional roller-coaster of life and death that brought me and many others to tears. I became emotionally attached to Augustus, mainly because not only can I see many of the same traits in him as I do in myself (minus the cancer). If I am honest Hazel irritated me a bit, feel free to disagree with me though.

A couple of weeks ago I invested in a cute 1950's style dress from Henry Holland, the gorgeous pastel yellow with a bow and hearts print is just brilliant, and perfect for the summer weather! I chose to wear tights this morning which I later decided was a mistake due to the almost overwhelming heat in some of my classrooms today.. my head band it the fabric belt that came with the dress, pretty nifty I thought. The belt I chose to wear around my waist is my tan one from new look that if you have read earlier post will have realised I wear with everything, and I mean everything!

The air was warm and sticky, as the ladies chinked their ice cold gin and tonics together. The misted tumblers glistened in the light as that all important topic of the nights party arrived, and it was with the quart once of venom in the voices of many that told the newbies that this was exclusive. You have to fight your way in with money, wit and good looks. Anyway back to the tale in hand, she sat just away from the main party by the art that had be laid against the wall, her head lowered just enough to create a sense of mystery about her.

Later that evening, in the same attire she had donned earlier, layers of chiffon silk and a cotton tee, all cinched in tightly has her waist. The summer weather called for a night of freshly cut grass, stars and swings. So as the sun set the party began, the icy champagne flowed from the bottles, as she began to swing higher and higher towards the sky, her legs outstretched until she jumped...landing with grace and poise next to the only eligible bachelor, who happened to be in the shadows away from the judging gazes of the many who surrounded them. She sat once more, but this time with a halo of light and flowers and a no longer single guy on her arm...

Inspired by the Delirium trilogy by Lauren Oliver, I painted these nails based on the character Lena's and also my favourite colour. Grey. "Not grey, exactly. Right before the sun rises there's a moment when the whole sky goes this pale nothing colour - not really grey but, sort of, sort of white, and I've always really liked it because it reminds me of waiting for something good to happen."

So here is how to get my sunrise nails:

Step 1:
Gather your equipment.

(Moisturiser and nail file both Cath Kidston, make up sponge form boots, nail polishes: green from rimmel london, peach from barry m, and grey is a mavala colour given away by Elle magazine a couple of years ago)

Step 2:
Moisturise your hands and file your nails.

Step 3:
Paint nails with clear polish and leave to dry.

Step 4:
Paint nails with a nude/peach colour.

Step 5:
Sponge a layer of pastel green/blue 3/4 of the way down the nail.

(Yes this is a messy process and I apologise for that)

Step 6:
Sponge a light grey nail polish can be metallic on to the tips of your nails.

Step 7:
Apply a clear top coat and clean up around the edges of the nail.

(At this point I had not removed all the polish from around my nails.. Ooopps)

I enjoy days like today, days where I can keep myself to myself, no questions asked. Sit with music, a pen and paper, and just let the words flow out. It's like the weight of the world is lifted off your shoulders for moment, and in that moment you are truly happy. But then everything just falls back, crushing your emotions until you are numb.

Never quite ready to face the world, always uncertain and doubt overwhelms the lights in life.

(An attempt to write my life in fiction...)

So it was time for the spring social, so naturally the dress code was black tie and masquerade. With not a floral print in sight, the people of high society turned out to dance with the devil. An expression not to be taken lightly. I once heard that 'one has to be fearless to attend the spring social', I did not know why until tonight.

What does one do in situations likes this? Don't refuse the invitation the stories, the lies, and the webs that are spun there are like nothing ever seen. I suppose you are wondering what I wore, as I am clearly not rich and famous, nor do I make clothes suitable for such an event, naturally I faked it.

As the film states rather clearly, "The Devil Wears Prada".

The second thing I think you ought to know, is that I can't tell you what happened inside, I was invited to tease and enthral readers of this blog I suppose, sworn to secrecy by the signed guest list.

Hello everyone! When Miriam kindly asked me to write up a guest post on anything
fashion related endless possibilities flooded past me. Should I write about my
love for neon, my latest clothing obsessions, or maybe my current must haves for
summer. But then I thought about my little on going project I've been working on for
awhile now, building out my wardrobe.

I've always thought of myself as a great shopper. Knowing which stores to go to for
certain items, getting great deals, knowing when to purchase and when to hold out
for that sale. But then looking through my closet one day and thinking to myself, 'I
have nothing to wear' (as I'm sure everyone inevitably does) it hit me. Maybe I was
a good shopper but I wasn't a good purchaser. I had a tendency to buy things that
were great in the moment and would be great for a season per the trends but as
time passed would be harder to wear years later. So, I decided one day to put an end
to it. Trends are great as additional fun pieces to your wardrobe, but wasn't meant
to consist of your entire wardrobe (unless of course you have unlimited money to
spend on your clothes). And so began my project of building out my wardrobe to
consist of classic pieces that would last for years and would work on a multitude of
levels.

Here are my 3 must have's for any wardrobe -

1. Nude Heels.

Nude heels have to be one of the most versatile shoes out there. They go with
absolutely anything and everything, instantly class up an outfit and as if you neededany other reason to love them, they elongate your legs and give you the appearance
of being taller, which for a short gal like myself is much needed.

2. White Blouse

A white blouse is probably my go-to item to wear. It goes with everything, you can
dress it up or down and makes an outfit seem more put together. It's essentially the
dressier equivalent to a white t-shirt but so much better.

3. Pops of Colour

If you ever need to add a little spice to an outfit, throw pieces that pop into the mix.
I usually do this through a necklace or some sort of jewellery and of course, through
shoes. Because they're meant to pop, they too go with almost anything in your
closet.

I'm still trying to figure out what basics I need, but with these at least
it's a good start.

Being the awful blogger that I am I took, very few photos whilst up in York visiting Eleanor from Coffee with Croissants.

Today started out as a homework in pyjamas day but transformed in to something very fabulous indeed. Okay I admit it took me about 2 hours to get changed and eat breakfast but that is what sundays are for right, leisurely mornings. So after a milky coffee and a fried egg sandwich I made my way to the "Objects Of Desire" fashion exhibition.

Clockwise from the top left: A random piece to showcase changes in the way designers make clothes, looking down the first hallway, a union jack blazer which I believe was worn by Kate Moss, and a Christopher Kane piece.

The first piece was created for the exhibition, and the next three where being walked down the catwalk over the past couple of years.

So after browsing the exhibition for a while I treated myself with a cappuccino.
