//Jumper - My flatmates//Jeans- Jack Wills//Glasses -Aluminium//
I was going back through my photos looking for a set of shots I took for a recipe post and while I couldn't find them I did find these random shots from when I went back to Devon back in March... But moving on from my useless blog organisation skills over the last 6 months.
While I wore this outfit back in March it is perfect for the beginning of Autumn, this might be because I am a huge advocate of the oversized items of knitwear than can be dressed up or down. Knitwear for me is not optional, take this jumper for example dressed down here with old jeans, messy slept in hair and what I like to call my 70's specs. But add a pair of pumps in my case probably black, blacker than black skinny jeans ( can you see a theme forming yet?). Maybe a white button-down with the collar showing and my black framed glasses and you are ready for cocktails.
So this is a toast to knitwear, for taking us from day to night effortlessly, for keeping us hella warm, and for making us look like we didn't roll out of bed and spill coffee before those 9am lectures. So thank you once again knitwear you are my saviour.

I'm not one to wear dresses all that often so when I buy one I have to be completely in love with it, and with this dress I wasn't sure until I put it on. I was one of those things I tried on for a joke and now can't stop wearing it.
*takes break from writing this post for 2 days to listen to The Fray*
Now where was I, oh yes this darling little dress, complete with a criss-cross lacing detail at the top, never has a dress been more perfect to take from day to night, loosen the lacing, swap in a leather jacket, and you are ready to have a great night. But for me by far the best thing about this piece is that compared to the rest of my wardrobe it is quite girly and not to mention it isn't all black...
*takes another break to eat some instant noodles*
Yes I think that will be all for this post. I promise to write something more interesting next time!

//Dress - River Island//Top - Free People//Tights - Joy//Necklace - Accessorize//Shoes - Converse//
The weather here in Oxford is starting to call for fewer layers, I'm not even hiding multiple coats and/or jumpers behind the camera today either. I can safely say I am looking forward to updating my wardrobe after a thorough clear out recently, so I can begin to create new combinations ready for the warmer weather. As the days get longer I become more inclined to change out of my pyjamas and out of bed to spend my days in beautiful sunshine, wearing my favourite clothes with people that make me happy.
This is a combination I have been considering for a while with different dresses. I chose this one not only because I still cannot seen to stop wearing Black 'n' White but because I enjoy the way the necklines pair up almost perfectly and the length of the dress allowed my to slip into these tights. If you have read my blog over the last couple of years then you will know I have an infatuation with Paris and these skyline tights have been a sort of staple in my drawers. I might even wear them when I head out to the city again later this year...

//T-Shirt Dress - H&M//Skirt - Topshop//Leggings - H&M//Shoes - M&S//Necklace - Accessorize//
I find that during the colder months even when it isn't raining I turn to darker colours, in other words I wear black or nearly block everyday. So while the majority of this outfit is black, I chose to break it up with my velvet skirt, not only to add a touch of colour but to add texture and layers. I would normally wear a skirt that covers the end of the dress but today I hitched it up a notch on my waist to show off the stripes at the bottom as well.
This week has been quite relaxed for me, mainly because most of my university work at the moment is reading, which is something I could do everyday anyway. That and I know that the week coming up is going to be very hectic as I will be balancing blogging, university and attending Oxford Fashion Week. I am not attending all of the shows but it is still quite the commitment.

//Shirt - ASOS//Necklace - Unknown//Jeans - Hollister//Boots - DUO//
I am really looking forward to the next few weeks, I have a few exciting outfit shoots to do and I have finished a couple of books over the last week ready to review. But most importantly the weather is improving so I can wear my over the knee boots outside with out fear of a large puddle ruining the suede. This means I can go to university lectures feeling like Olivia Palermo even if all I am doing is reading novels and writing essays in the library. I enjoy going back to classic 'country estate' looks during this time of year as you can easily layer with the items and any jacket works on top of it.
XO, Miriam
P.S. The boots were gifted to me by DUO.
