Out and About in Whitby.

Is there anything better than seaside towns filled with the smell of salt water, surf wax and the local chippy? For me at least seaside towns with an option for surfing and possible vintage shopping are always going to find a way to my heart. Whitby is one of those places, even if we didn't surf, Ellie and I definitely did some vintage shopping and indulged in some fish and chips with our families.

On out way into town in the hope that some of Ellie's favourite vintage shops were open on a Sunday, we spotted a sign to a vintage fair in a church. So we followed the signs and began to browse the different stalls. We both finally decided to purchase something from Twisted Vintage, which is a company run by a lovely lady called Nicola. She is currently on tour with her shop and has been across Britain this summer to festivals and other vintage sales. If you spot her brand go and have a look she has some great pieces!

I wish I could spend more time in the sea, not on a boat or near the sea but in it. I realised the last time I was in the sea that there is something beautiful about the power of the sea and that no matter how well you can swim or surf ultimately the sea will always have the power to over throw you or to let you harness that power and let it feels as if you are at one with the sea.

Dreaming instead of sleeping.

I have been loving this smock dress from Pull & Bear lately, it is so comfy and versatile to wear that I can see it becoming a weekly appearance during the summer months.  So naturally I wore it for my first exam of the season, with some plain black leggings from H&M, and my mums Levis jacket. For me this is a go to outfit when I need to be comfy and look put together at the same time. And I couldn't resist to put on my cat ears that I made for the RED tour!

You guessed it, I just had to wear some frilly socks from Topshop and some tan leather brogues from Clarks. In my opinion you cannot go into an exam hall without some preppy style straight out of Blair Waldorf's style book!

#BathXmasMeet

So yesterday I went on a small adventure to the city of Bath, to meet some other bloggers from around Britain and I believe the rest of the world! It was an amazing experience and I hope to meet them again at other meet ups or just for coffee in their home towns.
Before I begin to tell you all of the wonderful time I had in Bath I am going to say thank you to the lovely Megan from The Briar Rose Blog and all the wonderful companies who helped her out!

Now to try and recount all of the days whimsical events, or I could just show you the pictures...
Outside Bath Fashion Museum, I didn't know fashion museums were a thing... *said the girl obsessed with the V&A's fashion section*

This is on of my favourite photos, I love the reflection of everyone in the glass!

Dress of the Year.... Hmmmm not sure what I think of that...

A group of about 10 of us then popped off to Bea's Vintage Tea Rooms, which were just georgous and the china was perfect, I also have an intense urge to steal the table cloths and the sugar bowls.. I also had the most amazing toasted tea cake *mentally plans to try and replicate them* nom nom nom

I wish I had gone on this stunning carrousel, but a picture will have to suffice this year.

Above left: A lovely christmas gift from Megan thanks to Crown and Glory, I cannot wait to don that sparkly holly!
Above right: Some busniess cards I picked up from people.
Left and below: A book and necklace I bought in the fashion museum.

P.S. I have an OOTD post coming up but the lovely Joseph Kent took the photos to use on his blog Unlimited by JK first so I am waiting for the pictures to go up there first.

Time to ruffle some feathers

"No one and I mean no one can take my dream of Oxford away from me, well they just did and they are going to pay! I sometimes wonder if people realise how well connected a young 'innocent' girl like me is, it's not like I dine with the admissions officers of Yale and other Ivy League colleges, that aside I would love to study in England and you never know pick up a cute accent and maybe a cute boy to match... Anyway for now I need to persuade my lecturers to boost my grades even if that means a bit of how should I put it bribery. Ooops I didn't say that okay!"

Now along the theme of gossip and the general ruffling of feathers I picked up a peacock feather in a cute little vintage place I discovered, I must admit it is a little out of the way but I had a few hour to spare the other day between lessons so I explored further down the high street than normal!
